We recently had the chance to speak with Bailey Gambertoglio about her character in Despicable Me 2, getting her start in acting, her first project, and more!

1. How did you get your start in acting?
My sisters were actors when I was little so I decided to try it out when I was a baby and I fell in love!
2. What was your first project?
My first project was a little short film in California (my first time coming here) called yarn and I remember having LOTS of candy and looking for mice in a warehouse when we weren’t filming. That was when I realized acting was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
3. What is your favorite part about acting?
I love it when you get to be on set in wardrobe and hair and makeup and you get to interact with other characters and have fun with it!
4. What was it like working on Despicable Me 2?
It was so full of laughter and energy. We were just in the studio having the time of our life!
5. How would you describe your character in Despicable Me 2?
Agnes is a little ball of sunshine. She just lives in her head and has the most fun with life!
6. Who are your inspirations?
I love Johnny Depp, he is so flexible with doing so many different characters it amazes me.
7. What do you like to do when you are not working?
I hang out with friends, stay active like swimming, horse back riding, going to the beach, I love to travel and take crazy adventures.
8. Do you have any summer plans?
Well I just went to new York and took a cruise July 24th.
9. Do you have any upcoming projects?
Of course Despicable me coming out on July 3rd and filming a movie soon!
