- How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
I started in the atmosphere of middle school theater. I put on giant fake wings and ran around as a flying monkey in The Wizard of Oz. I wish I still had the wings, it would make my Halloween that much more interesting!
2. Can you tell us about the new Disney XD series “Parker Plays”?
Parker Plays is similar to a YouTube gaming channel with a bigger team! I’ve been doing videos on YouTube for years and I had the good fortune and a tremendous amount of luck to turn that into a Disney XD show. For this series, I sit in a room and play videos games for a few hours, then we send that through to the editors and talented team, who then write skits and mix them into the gameplay. Who ever said you can’t make a living playing video games?
3. What has it been like getting to work on that project?
It’s the best experience of my life, but it does come with some struggles. I mean, I’m playing video games so I can’t complain in the slightest, but it’s a full day of improvising. The hardest part is talking for 10 hours straight without your voice giving out on you!
4. How is this project different from others that you’ve worked on in the past?
The biggest difference with this project is that it’s just me. There are no other actors or characters, so I play all the roles myself. When the characters start talking to each other, the show gets interesting, I’ll just leave it at that!
5. What do you think fans will take away from the show?
My hopes are that people can see this and realize that you really can accomplish what seems to be impossible, and just because your parents did something, doesn’t mean that’s the best plan for your life! In the end, it is a fun and weird show that I hope makes people laugh.
6. Are you working on anything else at the moment?
I’m working on several fun projects! One of which involves me driving across the country, but I can’t say anything more! I’m also taking some time to work hard on my YouTube channel.
