We recently had the chance to chat with the magnificent Lucas Lockwood about getting his start in the entertainment industry, working on “Puberty”, goals for 2018, and more!

1. How did you get your start in acting?
Acting for me has always been a part of my life. Even as a child, my favorite game was “Make believe” with my brother and sisters. We moved everything around in the house to “SET THE SCENE’ and often got yelled at for it, but, it was always the most fun thing to do. I started taking action when I started high school by joining all drama, ensemble, dance and show choir classes I could get myself into. From there the passion, skill and love for acting flourished until I started doing it professionally.
2. What was your first project?
My first project, I played a very young rookie cop for a short film called “Chalk”. It was extremely fun to shoot, if I’m honest, but everything that could go wrong, went wrong during the shoot. That experience, right off the bat, taught me a lot about the ins and outs of the industry, which has greatly helped me till this day.
3. What can you tell us about your upcoming projects “Puberty” and “Beneath the Mistletoe”?
There’s so much I would absolutely love to tell you about, but, am not able to at this time. I can however, mention a little bit about “Beneath the Mistletoe”. It is a very fun, romantic comedy film, filled with insecurities and suspicions that lead to discovering the true meaning of relationships during the holidays.
I play a character called, Jake, who is engaged to the cousin of his best female friend from college, Jessica. Now the jealousy, fun and nail biting scenes, occur when Jake’s fiancé and Jessica’s husband try to find out what actually happened to them during college under the mistletoe.
4. What is your favorite part about acting?
Where to begin, is my question. Acting is a beautiful art that allows a person to truly discover different parts of themselves that they have yet to meet. It allows me to enter into a whole different world, different perspective and into the reality of that character. It allows me to tell a story in a way that can physically move someone, even if I never meet them face to face.
Another reason is that, I get bored easily. You see, I enjoy trying new things, and as an actor, repetition is never really a thing, because you always have to read a new script, new set, new actors, directors, events. It’s fast paced and I love it.
5. What else do you enjoy doing?
Well, I enjoy exercising, the outdoors, sporadic road trips, traveling, quality time with friends/family, movie with popcorn and hot chocolate. However, my most favorite thing is laughing and helping people achieve their goals/ finding their true potential.
6. You participate a great deal in charity work, can you tell us about what kinds of things you have done so far?
Sure! As a human being that lives on this planet, I feel that we should help one another because we are all on one huge ship floating around space. Now there are many things that we cannot fix in this world, but there are some that we can. I feel that we should be the change we want to see in the world.
Therefore, I partnered with Habitat for humanity, The Big Sunday foundation, Mosaic Foundation, Compassion International, and local charities, so that I may give back in other ways, other than money.
7. Do you have any goals for 2018?
Boy, do I have goals! I basically have goals that I’m going to reach in 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and 12 months.. For example, I’m striving to read more, help my friends achieve their goals, learn more about myself and my craft. I’m also looking forward to producing my own short films and web series.
8. Do you have any other upcoming projects you can share with us?
As far as projects, I have a couple of web series that I’m producing and directing as well as, two features that I was cast for, that will begin shooting this year. One of them I’m playing a character called Ali, whose life mission is to find justice for his people after a drastic change in governmental power.
