We recently had the chance to chat with “The Fosters” star Marlon Aquino about getting his start in the entertainment industry, working on “The Fosters”, behind the scenes secrets, and more!
- How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
I played I think it was Fernando, a topless bongo player on ELLEN during one of her segments where she asked me questions in English and I’d reply in Spanish. All while playing the bongos.
- What was your first project?
It was on NBC’s Parenthood. The episode had a serious scene at a Planned Parenthood clinic where someone was about to get scary news. My character was there to witness and serve judgement.
- What was it like getting to work on “The Fosters”?
A very easy going set. The director Cheryl Dunye first note for me was “ do what you do and take all the time you need” which is always a liberating thing for an actor.
- What was a typical day like on-set?
There’s a lot of waiting involved while shots are being set and the actors when called are usually talking among themselves with the director about the scene. You can see how everyone enjoys what their doing and those around them.
- What is something fans wouldn’t know about the show?
Not sure how many people know but entertainer JLo is one of the shows producers.
- What was it like getting to work on “Deadly Expose”?
One of my favorite experiences. It’s my first feature film and everyone from cast and crew were just the nicest souls to be around. I Watched veteran actor Melissa Archer do her magic from behind the scene.
- Do you have any other upcoming projects?
I’ll appear on USA’s Unsolved on April 24th playing besides Aisha Hinds who plays Biggies Mother. Then on TNT’s season 5 of The Last Ship. And there’s also Coronas summer campaign which hasn’t not yet release.
