We recently had the chance to chat with Savannah Garza about getting started in the industry, working on music, upcoming music, and more!
- How did you get your start in the music industry?
Growing up, my parents introduced me to music at a very young age. From classic rock to hip-hop to electronic, there was always music playing throughout the house. They fostered my love for music and we started to go to a multitude of concerts. I was inspired by all the different artists on stage, so my parents enrolled me in a school of music called Rockstar Academy. It was there at this center of learning, that I discovered how much I loved to sing, and the rest, as they say, was history!
- How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as pop/alternative. I think I’m a mix between Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, and Taylor Swift.
- Who are your musical inspirations?
I have many musical inspirations, all ranging from Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato (who I sang backup for), Jon Bellion, The Vamps, Linkin Park, Madeon, and the list goes on!
- What was it like getting to perform at Seacrest Studios?
I always absolutely love getting to perform at Seacrest Studios. It’s one of my favorite things to do. At each studio I have been to, everybody has always been so welcoming and kind. The kids are amazing and I love getting to know them!
- What are your musical aspirations?
I just hope to reach as many people as possible with my music. I hope that they will be able to relate to it, as well as relate to me. I would also love to perform at Madison Square Garden! Singing there has always been a huge dream of mine!
- If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be and why?
I think it would be amazing to collaborate with either Bruno Mars or Jon Bellion. I respect them so much as artists and I think they are extremely creative.
- What is your favorite part about singing?
My favorite part about singing is that I get to express myself completely. Any emotions I’m feeling, I can just let it out in song.
- Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?
Stay true to who you are! Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do something. I was bullied for years with people constantly telling me I couldn’t become a singer. From the short time since then, I have accomplished so much! Do what you love, and the opinions of other people will fade away!
- Are you currently working on any other projects you’d like to share with us?
Yes I am! I’m always working on new music and I plan to release a new single this summer. I’m so excited!
- What are your social media accounts?
My Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are all @savvygmusic. My website is www.savvygmusic.com
