We recently had the chance to chat with singer Favor about getting his start in the entertainment industry, working on his single “Valentine”, producing mash-up music videos, and more!
1. When did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
When I was 18-years old I broke into the business by opening up for several known acts. I was singing pop and R&B in front of thousands of fans. It was an experience that I will never forget.
2. What was your first project?
My first project was a single called ‘Valentine.’ It was my first time working in a real studio with a professional producer. That same producer financed the music video for ‘Valentine’, which came out great!
3. How would you describe your sound?
Top 40 pop music sung in a soulful way. I said Top 40, but I have a sound that has not been heard yet…it is truly timeless.
4. Who are your musical influences?
Bruno Mars, Jason Derulo, and The Chainsmokers.
5. Can you tell us about the music mashup videos that you recently released?
It was a private audition and I was selected out of approximately 100 singers. It was a fun experience and I gained a lot of exposure. All videos combined, which includes my most recent one, topped the one million mark on YouTube’s views. The first mashup was a Justin Bieber/Adelle song. The second one was a Bruno Mars/Megan Trainor collaboration. And the third mashup was Bruno Mars again, but this time with Cardi B.
6. Do you have any projects that you’re currently working on?
I recently finished an EP with my producer and a music video for my latest single called ‘Run Back In Time’. Parts of the video were shot at the famous Getty Villa as well as some remote locations in downtown LA.
7. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not singing?
I have an adventurous appetite. I enjoy eating gourmet food. Some of my favorite cuisines are Italian, Japanese, and seafood. My favorite restaurants in Los Angeles are Catch, Craig’s, and Crustacia.
