- How did you get started in the music industry?
I got started by performing at open mic nights in Chicago, like hello hip hop and yca (young Chicago authors) just getting my reps in and being more comfortable on stage, while building my fan base until I was able to sell tickets. Being around that scene is like being in a little family. Some people you see a lot, some not so much, but for those really hustling it’s all love and it’s a community.
- What inspires your music?
My life. Haha. The experiences and tribulations I’ve gone through trying to find myself. No one has it all figured out, and as I develop more as a person, my music does also.
- Who are your musical influences?
I’d have to say childish gambino, Saba, G-Eazy, Young Thug and Future. And of course all the legends!
- How would you describe your sound?
My sound is pure and eclectic. It’s the rawest form of commercial rap.
- What is your favorite song of yours?
My favorite song is “Graduation.” I love the message, and it feels like a coming of age. It’s my own little “I made it moment song.”
- What do you think comprises a good song?
A good song is comprised of heart and soul. Put your entirety on that wax. Haha. That’s a good song for real!
- Do you have any other upcoming projects you can share with us?
I have Cabrini the mixtape releasing April 5th, and I have a tour starting in two weeks. After that, I’ll be filming my short film that goes with the project and pushing that. Outside of music you can see me in “The Chi” Season 2 episode 1 as one of the basketball players, and The Last summer on Netflix casually passing by haha.
- What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy watching movies, tv shows and going shopping. I spend a lot of money on clothes and jewelry haha. I like it though, it makes me feel good since I had nothing growing up. Just getting the gold that was taken from me.
