We recently had the chance to speak with Jaden Betts from “Doc McStuffins.” During the interview Jaden talks about the show, getting his start in acting, doing voice overs, and more!

1. How did you get your start in acting?
Well both of my parents are in the business so, I got to go on a lot of auditions with them. Sometimes, I even got to be in the room when they auditioned and I would tell them what I thought about their performance. That really helped me at auditions when it was my turn!

2. What was your first project?
I worked on my first project when I was 5 months old.It was a national commercial for State Farm Insurance called “Baby Talk” with Spike Lee as the director. I don’t remember doing it, but my parents took lots of pictures and it’s on Youtube.

3. What is it like working on Doc McStuffins?
Working on Doc McStuffins is so much fun. Everyone there is really nice! I’ve learned so much from everyone there. It’s great to be part of a show that teaches kids not to be afraid of the doctor and how to take care of themselves.

4. Can you tell us about the character you play on the show?
I play Donny McStuffins. Donny is Doc’s younger brother. He’s four years old and has lots of energy. Donny ends breaking a lot of his toys. Doc saves the day and fixes them for him. Donny really looks up to his older sister!

5. What is your favorite part about doing voice-overs?
Doing voice-overs is incredibly fun! I love that I can go in and record after school. It goes by so fast because I’m having fun! Also, I love being able to hear what I’ve recorded when it plays on tv. Sometimes I even forget it’s me that I’m hearing. Oh yeah, and you can wear whatever you want. Just as long as it doesn’t make too much noise like zippers, snaps and stuff like that because the microphones will hear everything.

6. What is your favorite character you’ve done?
My favorite character that I have played is Donny McStuffins because he is sincere and very funny.

7. Do you have any upcoming projects?
I recently shot three commercials. HEB Groceries, Danimals and Toyota. On the HEB commercial I got to work with China Ann McClain, from Disney’s “Ant Farm” and on Danimals I got to work with Bella Thorne, from Disney’s “Shake It Up”. It was AWESOME meeting and working with both of them!

8. What are your social media accounts?
My parents are helping me set up a facebook fan page. Keep an eye out for it!
