1. How did you get started in the music industry?

It all really started with IMTA 2015 where I met with WaterSound Entertainment.  From there I’ve taken on this amazing journey of traveling back and forth to Nashville to work with new songwriters and produce with different producers. The whole process of the music industry has taught me so much about myself and the artist I strive to be.

2. Who are your musical influences?

My biggest musical influences are Sara Bareilles and P!nk because they preach about breaking the social norms and embracing being unique. They have both influenced my music and my desire to help others through music the way they helped me. P!nk’s song ‘Perfect’ and Sara Bareilles’s song ‘Brave’ both empowered me in times of doubt or vulnerability.

3. Can you tell us about your new single “Outcast”?

My new single ‘Outcast’ is about celebrating being different and not fitting into the social norms. When I was writing the song, I originally titled it ‘Title’ but it later became ‘Outcast’ during production with Eren Cannata. This single is so special to me because I put so much of myself and my experience with stereotypes and titles into it.

4. What inspired the song?

‘Outcast’ was originally inspired by someone putting me in a category and giving me a title based on what they think of me. However, it changed and became more about giving yourself your own title and recognizing that everyone is different in his/her own way.

5. What was the recording process like?

The recording process for ‘Outcast’ was such a blast! I absolutely love working with Eren Cannata and once we spoke about our visions for the song, everything started coming together and I couldn’t have been happier.

6. How is this single different from other songs of yours?

This single is different from other songs of mine because I wrote it all on my own which gives it a very special place in my heart knowing that every word in this song is truly mine.

7. Do you have any other upcoming projects?

I have a number of singles that are done and ready to be released; however, we are taking our time sharing each song.  I am also writing new songs all the time and hope to get into the studio to record them soon.

8. What are your social media accounts?

My Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are all @sydneyray03
