1. How did you begin modeling?
I began modeling when I was 12 years old, after my first photoshoot in Sri Lanka with my mom. We both modeled sarees together.
2. What was it like being Miss Sri Lanka?
I was in college during the pageant, so I was unable embrace the opportunity as much as I would have. However, it was a great opportunity as my mom was Miss Sri Lanka 1981 as well.
3. How did that change your life?
It gave me a new perspective on my culture, it is wonderful to be a light for Sri Lanka. It had me focus on the values within myself and what I want to give to the world.
4. How do you live a healthy lifestyle?
I enjoy foods in their most natural state. I do believe in moderation and not depriving yourself. As for exercise, I start the day with at least 30 minutes of meditation and prayer, then 60-75 minutes of exercise. I love yoga, boxing, Pilates, weight training, and spending time outdoors. If I have a shoot coming up, I focus on specific areas. I just like to move and not spend too much time sitting down.
5. What advice do you have for others who want to try to live healthier?
Every body is different. It is important to feed yourself with the proper nutrients that make you feel good in your body. I’ve learned that if you fuel your body with the right nutrients, then you feel your best and you can be your best. Being healthy is to not deprive yourself. Experiment with different herbs and spices; it is a great opportunity to be creative.
6. What kind of content do you post on Instagram?
I tend to post favorite photos from my shoots, healthy foods, lifestyle, yoga poses, encouraging messages, and adventure photos.
7. Do you have any other upcoming projects that your fans can look forward to?
I have a few projects that will be out within the next few months, so stay tuned!
