Interview With We’re No Gentleman! (@WereNoGentleman)
We recently had the chance to chat with the lovely members of “We’re No Gentleman” in our exclusive interview! They dished about forming as a band,
- How did you form as a band?
The band was founded by drummer Vince Gudino and some of his close friends. When the band decided they wanted to get serious, they added front-woman Amanda Gabel. After playing together for two years, and members leaving, Amanda and Vince sought out for more serious members. That all came true with addition of Daniele Bonnedu on bass and Rikki Juarez and Dan Schiz on guitar.
- How would you describe your sound?
Each song has a different vibe, “Mirror, Mirror” is definitely our pop-rock track whereas “Night” has a darker, emo sound. The music we’re currently writing is heavier than anything we’ve ever done and is alternative rock.
- What can you tell us about “Night”?
“Night” is a song about wanting to let go of hurt. It’s a build up of all of the experiences that have now become you. It’s about wanting to let go of negative and suicidal thoughts. Most of the band has been affected by loved ones taking their own life so this song is very dear to our hearts.
4. How will this be different from your previous music?
“Night” is different because it’s more of a dark ballad. The time signature of the song is also not traditional, but done in a way that the listener can still bob their head to it. Lyrically, it has a more serious and personal theme, but is presented in a way that can relatable to anybody.
5. What was the recording process like?
We record with producer Dan Parker, who’s located in Phoenix Arizona. When recording the E.P., we were in the studio for at least 8 hours a day for a week straight. It was the most exhausting, fun, creative experience though. The first day is usually about bouncing ideas off one another and getting the creative juices flowing. Once the new structure is established, we record guitars first, then vocals, and drums are saved for last.
6. When and where can fans listen to the song?
The music video will be released on YouTube on December 12th. You can also stream the song now on YouTube and Spotify. You can purchase the song on Itunes, Amazon, Google Play, and at shows!
7. Do you have any upcoming projects?
We recorded a new EP in November that we plan on releasing in early 2018.
8. Do you have any holiday traditions?
Lots of spiked eggnog and other drinks…Also Dan celebrates Hanukkah.
