Interview With Gavin Magnus Host Of “When Sports Collide” (@GavinMagnus)
We recently had the chance to chat with the host, Gavin Magnus, of DreamWorks TV’s new comedy show “When Sports Collide.” During the interview, Magnus talked about getting his start in the acting industry, working on “Reckless Juliets”, goals for 2018, and more!
- How did you get started in acting?
I first got involved in local theatre and fell in love with acting. I told my mom I wanted to be an actor and from there I started to take acting classes and hired agents and managers.
- Who are your acting inspirations?
My acting inspirations are Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, and The rock They are all such great actors and encourage me to do the comedy I love.
- What was your first project?
My first project was actually my very first audition. I guess I got lucky and landed my first toy commercial for Jack’s Pacific.
- What was it like getting to work on “Reckless Juliets”?
During my first time working on Dreamworks TV I was nervous and excited at the same time. I met a great friend named Delijah. We had tons of script and lots of studying. It was so fun learning new sports and the Director Derek Baynham was really nice. We did 3 episodes per day and 2 days straight and I learned so much!
- How was the project different from others that you’ve done in the past?
It was my first big part with lots of script so I had to learn it all really quickly in a day or
- Do you have any other upcoming projects?
Yes I have a couple cool projects coming out on TV especially one on a pop network that I can’t say what it is just yet. I am also working on more episodes of “Reckless Juliets” soon.
7. What are your goals for the new year?
The first thing I want to accomplish is to book a reoccurring role in a TV show. I think this is my year! I am also going to try to get to 100k subscribers on YouTube since I am at almost 20k now. My last goal is to go somewhere I have never been maybe out of the country.
