Interview With Director Of “IRL the Series” Bobby Del Rio! (@Bobman)

We recently had the chance to chat with the direction of “IRL the Series.” During the interview, Bobby talked about getting his start in the industry, “IRL the Series”, upcoming projects, and more!
- How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
I went to theatre school for 4 years. All my career opportunities started in that program… I made friends with numerous directors and producers, who began hiring me for their plays at Toronto theatre festivals.
- What was your first project?
I’ve been acting since I was a kid. I played a woodchuck when I was 6. But professionally, my first gig was acting in a commercial for the Canadian department store Eaton’s when I was around 19/20.
- What inspired IRL the Series?
I have experienced a lot of online bullying and trolling. IRL the Series was my attempt to understand why the social media experience can get so dark…
- What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
I played the male lead in a web series called My Roommate’s an Escort, created by Katie Uhlmann and Trish Rainone. I had the most fun on that, and loved the experience all around. It’s rare to feel that.
- Do you have any upcoming projects you can share with us?
My feature film The Market just got a distribution deal. We are rebranding as a web series. I am the writer/director. It will be launched online later this year.
