We recently had the chance to chat with “Insomnia” star Morris Small about his role and more in an exclusive interview! Check it out!

1. How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?

I began working in elementary school and church plays. In my adulthood, I was introduced to a SAG member who showed me where to go.

2. What was your first big project?

My first big project came when I was selected to be an extra on the Steven Spielberg movie “Minorty Report”.

3. What has been your favorite project to work on so far?

Hard question, probably the short film I directed, written, and had a role in “Detective MJ” mainly because it was a comedy. The opportunity to have new comers, comedians, and experienced actors to work together was great.

4. How did you land your role on the series “Insomnia”?

The “Insomnia” web series was advertised online, it seemed interesting, I submitted a online audition, and I received an email that I was selected.

5. What was it like getting to work on that project?

It was exactly what I wanted to experience from a director that stuck with his vision, keep his word, and the anticipation of the audience reaction after it was released.

6. Why do you think fans liked it so much?

I believe the fans like the mystery of not knowing who was doing what or what the characters where going to do.

7. What can you tell us about your upcoming projects “A City in Chaos” and “Whisper”?

“A City in Chaos” short film which I co wrote and acted in was filmed in the aftermath of the recent riots in Baltimore, MD.  The feature film “Whisper” was based on actual events about an African American man with his businesses and real estate in Harlem, New York.

8. What is a typical day like on-set?

A typical day is Arrive on set, wait for the director to give instructions, wardrobe, make up, camera set up from the DP, quick rehearsal, film, break, and resume the same sequences later.

9. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not acting?

Traveling, experiencing life, relaxing, and learning new things.

10. Are there any upcoming projects you’d like to share with us?

Yes, the upcoming projects include a Network TV role as a lead that will air in the coming months nationwide and I am booked for a role as a real estate developer in an independent project.
