We recently had the chance to chat with Brandin Stennis about being a part of “”The Young & The Restless” and more.
Check it out below!
- How did you get started in the entertainment industry?
I always loved to act and seemed to be picked as the lead in the school plays as young as kindergarten.
2. What was the first big project that you’ve worked on?
I booked a pilot called “Ward of the State” when I was about 8 years old. I was great working with Vanessa Williams and other great actors and actresses, such as Janet Hubert and Aloma Wright.
3. How did you land your role on “The Young & The Restless?”
I received the audition and since it was my mom’s favorite show –she coached me and I booked the role. Yeah!!!
4. What was your reaction when you found out you booked the part?
I was at a candy factory getting candy for my birthday party when we received a call from my agent–both my mom and I screamed with joy and excitement!!!
5. What was a typical day like on set?
First school of course, but I had a great time talking to the actors and hanging out at CBS studios. I loved working with Christel Khalil!!! OMG she is so beautiful and so nice and it was a pleasure to be cast as her son on Young and the Restless. I also loved working with Daniel Goddard and playing his son. I love Daniel’s cool accent and he is very funny and kind. It was also a pleasure to work with Jess Walton, Kristoff St. John, Bryton James and the beautiful McKenna Roberts who played my twin sister
6. What was your favorite scene you filmed?
My favorite scene was the Christmas Eve scene because we were able to work with the original “Annie” on set and we were able to sing Christmas carols with her surrounded by the cast—-with snow flakes coming down over our heads in the park. It was amazing!!!
7. What did you take away from your experience of working on that project?
It was just an honor to work on such an amazing series with such an amazing cast.
8. Do you prefer working on commercials or on television and film projects?
I have done over 26 National TV commercials and have been nominated for Young Actor Awards for 1) commercials, 2) live theater 3) TV and 4) film. I think I love working on commercials, television and film equally because I just love working.
8. Do you have any upcoming projects fans can look forward to?
Yes, I’m currently a co-host on a kids educational science show where we do cool science experiments that you can do with your friends. This science project which will air in November 2018. I recently booked a role in a feature film that should start shooting this summer. I’m modeling and currently shooting more commercials.
