Interview With “I Can Change” Singer Will Muse!

- How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
I started playing guitar when I was 5 and piano when I was 6. I started taking vocal lessons when I was about 12. A fun fact is that my first ever live performance was in front of my entire school. It was during my 5th grade talent show. The largest step in my music career was signing with PCG Universal in Nashville in September of 2017. I have been blessed to work with some of the best in the music industry.
- Who are your musical inspirations?
Some of my musical influences and inspirations include: Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, The Beatles and Prince. These artists have a classic style and are still very relevant today.
- What do you think makes you stand out as an artist?
I have been told I have a very unique tone to my voice. I don’t think I sound like any other artist. My music is a more bluesy, pop, rock style, which I think is quite unique. I’m also a very soulful singer.
- What was the writing and recording process like for “I Can Change?”
In August of last year, I wrote the melody of “I Can Change” while sitting at my piano. Then I began writing on the universal concept that anyone can change if they have someone who believes in them. In September, I took the song to my producer Britton Cameron. Together, we made the song more dynamic and felt it was definitely worthy of recording. We recorded the song in early November and shot the music video later in the month. The song was released on February 3rd of this year.
- What is the song about?
The song is about the universal concept that anyone can change if they have someone who believes in them. It is relatable to almost anyone and everyone no matter what situation they are in.
- What has the fan reaction been like to the song and the music video?
The fan reaction has been great! I feel like people are able to connect with the meaning of the song. The audience has been very supportive. The video has been shared internationally and has reached over a million views on Facebook.
- How is it different from other music you’ve released in the past?
“I Can Change” was my first official release.
- Are you currently working on any other projects you’d like to share with us?
I recently finished recording my first album which will release this summer. I will be making a video for one of the songs on the record in the upcoming weeks. I am hoping the video will be unique and different.
