Interview With Lexi Jayde! (@LexiJaydeb)
We recently had the chance to chat with the lovely Lexi Jayde about getting her start in the entertainment industry, filming her “Baby It’s Cold Outside” music video, upcoming projects, and more!
The video is set to debut on December 6th!
Check out the interview below!
1. How did you get your start in the music industry?
I started participating in musical theater when I was 6 years old and now have done over 20 musicals. Of course my favorite was starring in Annie as “Annie”. I am now getting into Pop and Country performing covers and starting to write my own songs.
2. How would your describe your sound?
A little Pop, a little Broadway and a little Country. I have been told my entire life I have a twang so I consider myself a hybrid of all three – The “Lexi” Sound. *laughs*
3. Who are your musical influences?
There have been so many artists that have influenced me over the years but I just recently watched the documentaries of Lady Gaga and Demi Lovato and they both are so inspiring!
4. What was your favorite part about filming your music video for “Baby It’s Cold Outside”?
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! The making of this video was magical. I loved every second of the process.
5. What was the process like?
Magical and very quick! We put the entire video together in three weeks. I should say the stars aligned! From the recording to attaching Emery and Nayip (our director), to filming and post. It was a labor of love and everyone put their all into it to move it quick so we could get it out in time for the holiday season.
6. What was it like working with Emery?
Well Emery, as you know, is so cute, but he is also incredibly talented and can do it all, on top of being sweet, fun and very professional! I really loved partnering with him to create this amazing cover.
7. You’re also an actress, can you tell us about your role in Lifetime’s “Lucky Dog”?
Yes! Lucky Dog was my very first lead role in a movie. I had such an amazing experience and this is when I knew I wanted to act for the rest of my life.
8. What was a typical day like on-set?
Well any day on set is great. I’d start with hair and make-up (I wish I had that every day), then we’d go over to set and it’s like telling a story with a lot of people. You all have a different role but you are all connected by the story. I can’t explain the feeling but there is nothing like it.
9. Do you have any other upcoming projects?
Now that I have finished with this holiday cover I am going to focus on acting again. I have a couple movies lined up and I am just looking forward to getting back on set. I am so excited for this next year!
