We recently had the chance to chat with Akinyele about working on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Disney’s “Magic Camp,” and more!

1. How did you land your role on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”?

Believe it or not the shows producer contacted my mother directly and said that they would love for me to play the role of Bobby and I was like heck yeah!!

2. What was your reaction when you found out you landed the part?

I couldn’t believe that they asked me and I was excited and grateful for this unbelievable opportunity.

3. What was the experience like getting to work on the show?

Working on Jimmy Kimmel was awesome ! Mr. Kimmel is very funny and cool. The whole show including the band and the staff are so laid-back and cool!

4. What was a typical day like on-set?

Coming in giving high-fives, having fun, laughing and joking around, rehearsing, and having an awesome time.

5. What can you share with us about your character in Disney’s “Magic Camp”?

AC Brown is part of a ragtag group of rookie magicians. He is nerdy, happy, and loves magic!

6. What is the movie about?

Disney’s “Magic Camp” is about a group of young inspiring magicians and a former camper whose field career as a magician makes him come back as a camp counselor to a ragtag group of kids. He is so inspired by the young campers that he rediscovers his love for magic.

7. How do you think it will stand out from other Disney movies?

I believe this movie will be very different since it’s full of family comedy, big laughs and magic! I believe it will be one of the best live action family comedy films with heart and the magic Disney touch!

8. What are your goals for 2018?

My goal for 2018 is to have Steven Spielberg put me in a Jurassic Park film! Naw just kidding! I’m a big fan! But call me Steve, I’m ready! I really want to get better on my craft and hopefully get to work on some super awesome projects big or small. I am grateful for any time I get to work and make TV and movie magic!
