The latest news and interviews about Hollywood's rising stars

We recently had the chance to chat with Briana Roy star of SAG film “Reclaim” featuring John Cusack & Ryan Phillippe talks about working on set of Disney Channel’s “Raven’s Home”, guest starring on ABC Family’s “Recovery Road”, and more!

1. How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?

I started in the entertainment industry doing print ads and local TV commercials at the age of five in my hometown of Miami while attending school as a gifted student.

2. What was your first major project?

I would say my first major project was an international ad campaign for Blue Cross Blue Shield that appeared on a few billboards.

3. How did you land your role on “Raven’s Home?”

My manager submitted me for the role and I got requested by the Disney casting director to audition and which I did. After a callback, I got the role …… and it was a process I must say.

4. Which character did you play?

I play the role of Natalie for a specific episode which will air sometime during this summer.

5. What was a typical day like working with the cast?

The cast of Raven’s Home is very professional, respectful, and such a fun cast to be working with especially Raven Symoné because she has a very nice personality. Overall, it was a great experience.

6. Did you watch the original show growing up?

Of course! I watched the original show, but on demand though because I’m not a 90s baby.

7. What can you tell us about the Nickelodeon game show project you have recently been working on?

It’s a presentation. They’re going to try to see how the audience will respond to the first episode. I can say it’s a fun game which in my opinion will catch the attention of the young viewers and families.

8. What has been your favorite project to work on so far and why?

My favorite project that I worked on so far has to be “Reclaim” a movie which I played the role of “Nina” alongside  John Cusack, Ryan Phillippe, Rachelle Lefevre, Luis Guzman & two time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver. It was a lot of work and also fun on my days off like a type of getaway for a bit cause it was filmed in Puerto Rico.

9. Do you prefer modeling or acting?

I love both modeling and acting 🙂

10. What are your dream projects/roles?

I can see myself being on those types of Tyler Perry projects. As an African American and a proud Afro carrier, I would love to be in one of his films/Family reunion which I think I can fit in well.

It might seem funny, but I would like to be in Fast and Furious and some scary movies.

11. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I like to design clothes with my sister Jenasha, take lots of selfies for the Gram, and read.

12. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

Honestly there’s so many places I would love to go, but somewhere I’ve always wanted to go is Paris …… Oui oui because I am a huge fan of fashion and Paris is the place. I feel like it’s a must do for me as a fashionista.

13. Do you have any fun summer plans you’d like to share with us?

Yes, in the summer I want to visit my grandma and my extended family in Haiti who I love dearly.

14. Are you currently working on any other projects?
