The latest news and interviews about Hollywood's rising stars

We recently had the chance to chat with “Den of Thieves” star Marcus Lavoi about landing the role, working on set, upcoming projects, and more!

1. How did you land your role on “Den of Thieves” and what was the audition process like?

I worked on “The Young and the Restless” many years ago. I befriended Eric Braden while working on the show. I attended a few celebrations at his home where I met his Son, Christian Gudegast. Christian is an amazing Writer and Director, we collaborated on a project related to my past law enforcement career. Several years later, my amazing Manager, Mireille Wilson (Midwest Talent) sent me on an audition for a feature film entitled “Den of Thieves”. After a lengthy call back, I received notice of the booking. Once the full script was sent to me, I noticed the Writer/Director’s name, Christian Gudegast, and the rest is history.

Thank you, my brother Christian.

2. What character do you play?

I played Marcus Rhodes a former military man.

3. How would you describe your character?

Rhodes was a U.S. Marine who turned to a life of crime. No fear, all loyalty, trained to lay down his life for his brothers.

4. What is the film about?

“Den of Thieves” is an action based heist film centered around a team of highly trained bank robbers that are hunted down by an equally well trained and fearless team of sheriff deputies working the major crimes unit.

5. What was a typical day like on-set?

Long hours, hard work, and dedication with a united goal of putting out the highest quality bank robber action film EVER….

6. What was your favorite scene to film?

I would have to say the shoot out scene at the donut shop. It’s the opening scene and it’s a rollercoaster of excitement and action. It had so many moving parts that made for an exciting shoot. Plus, it rained the first night and we were soaked for the first day of shooting, so that meant for continuity we had to be wet down for the rest of the week-long shooting sequence in the cold.

7. What is something most fans wouldn’t know about the film?

How awesome the cast, consisting of a group of testosterone filled bad ass alpha males got along, became brothers, and held the highest level of respect for one another throughout the entire filming process.

What an honor to be a part of that team.

8. Are you currently working on any upcoming projects fans can look forward to?

I am currently working on a project that I can’t share, but check my social media soon for the big announcement!
