We had the chance to chat with Grayson Kilpatrick about landing his role in “Chicken Girls: The Movie”, working on set, upcoming projects, and more!

1. How did you land your role in CHICKEN GIRLS: The Movie?
   • My manager pitched me for the role and wanted me if I still had red hair like in the demo reel and headshots.

2. What was your reaction when you found out you landed the role?
   • I thought it was awesome! I landed a role and didn’t even have to audition for it! I was hired off of a demo reel.

3. What is the movie about?
   • There is a new principal that comes into a high school and cancels a school dance after finding out the state test scores are really bad.
   • The main dance team of the school is called the “Chicken Girls”. There is a rivalry between them and the other dance team at the school that causes some drama in the school.

4. How would you describe your character?
   • Sheldon is someone I’d like to slap the crap out of! LOL
   • He’s the principal’s pet that always wants to ruin the fun of the other students in the school.

5. What was a typical day like on-set?
   • I went straight to the wardrobe area where I dressed and got my hair and makeup done.
   • Then, we had school time with a set teacher that had us do school work when we weren’t filming. It’s mandatory to have three hours of school work a day.
   • We filmed a lot of scenes several times to get the different angles.

6. Did you have a favorite scene to film?
   • The “la cucaracha” scene with the principal and the Spanish teacher.

7. What was it like getting to work with Annie LeBlanc and the rest of the amazing cast?
   • They were all so kind and very welcoming. I was glad that I got the opportunity to get to work with all of the cast members.

8. Did you hang out with them when you weren’t filming?
   • Yes! We had a lot of down time especially on the weekends when we would play card games and I would show people how to solve my Rubik’s Cube.

9. What is a fun fact that most fans wouldn’t know about the movie or the filming process?
   • There is only one camera but there were several people that had a job that helped the cameraman get the film they needed for the movie.

10. When did you first realize that you were building a large following across your social media platforms? Was there a specific post that received a lot of attention?
    • I started noticing a larger following when Brat posted a picture that they were making a “Chicken Girls” movie. They mentioned me in the picture caption.
    • There was a picture of me and Annie on Instagram that got about 800 likes in just a day’s time!

11. Are you currently working on any other projects you’d like your fans to know about?
    • I just finished a feature horror film called “Black Pumpkin” that should be out this fall.
    • I will be filming a web series this fall called “NC 16”. It’s a comedy about kids entering high school and how the decisions they make now can affect the next four years. I’ll be playing the character Nelson.
