Interview With “Pink Opaque” Star Jenny Katrina! (@ItsJennyKatrina)

- How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
Oh boy, haha that’s a long one! For as long as my recollection can go, I’ve always wanted to do this, but coming from immigrant parents, it was tough for me to navigate and find the right contacts. So I went on expressing my art through learning piano, guitar, and cheerleading through HS and the first bit of college. Even moved to the Big Apple, something about it made me feel closer to it. Whilst I was there, I got a call that lead me back to an opportunity in LA to do a showcase in front of reputable agents and managers. Sure enough I took it and landed myself an agent and manager. It’s an everyday hustle, I can not see myself do anything else, even when I tried leaving it, it didn’t leave me : )
- How did you land your role in Pink Opaque ?
Originally I came in for the role of “Kristen”, our lead. I got the call saying it had came down to me and two others. They went a different direction, but wanted to keep me on and found a part for me! 😀
- What is the film about?
Pink Opaque is a coming of age story set in the melting pot of modern everyday life in LA. We touch base on everything from love to family to diversity to friendships. Really excited to see the final cut myself!
- How would you describe your character?
One word: FUN!
- What is one behind the scenes secret you can share with us?
Only secret is the love and dedication the cast, crew, and producers put into making this modern day LA story. Everyone worked very hard and we are hoping audiences will feel that love that every single person who worked on the film put into it 🙂
- How was working on this film different from others that you’ve worked on?
The atmosphere. Day in and day out everyone continuously to have that passion and drive. Our producers and director were always so encouraging! I can’t get enough of this cast and crew! xD
- What did you learn in the process of working on this project?
Being comfortable in your own skin and trusting yourself.
- You also have some experience in aerial and stunt work, is that something you’d want to pursue more in the future?
Never say never! Haha, I love being in the air and action so, whenever I get the chance you can bet I am hanging on a silk or punching a bag somewhere 😀
- What are some of your major goals for 2019?
To work really hard on my craft and be prepared for every and any opportunity that may come my way. With the grace of God, everything else will fall into place 🙂
- Do you have any advice for anyone looking to pursue a career in the entertainment
industry?
Never give up. If this is what you really want and are passionate about, do NOT give up. My mantra is “ If you persist at something long enough, theres no way you will fail”. You will hear “No’s” more than “Yes’s” in this industry but you have to KNOW that it comes with the territory. Don’t let it discourage you. If you love something enough, you’ll keep going! Work on your craft and know that everyone has their own race, what is for you will be for you. Don’t forget to live and have fun whilst you’re pursuing this too!
- What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
HAVING FUN! Haha honestly, I enjoy going out and having down time with my family, friends, and significant other. I’m such a home body and so is my boyfriend, we always joke about how we’re such grandmas and grandpas every time we go out haha
- If you could work with another actor/actress, who would it be and why?
Oh my goodness, just one? There are so many! Denzel Washington, Rachel McAdams, Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie, Mathew McConaughey, Leo, Anne Hathaway, I can go on and on and we all know why!
- Are you working on any other projects?
Fingers crossed! It’s pilot season. Let’s put it out into the universe, I will be soon 😀
- What are your social media handles?
