Interview With Georgia T. Willow! (@GeorgiaTWillow)
1. How did you get your start in the entertainment industry?
I spent my childhood around studio lots, I even attended
2. What was your first big project?
My first booking was a national Chase bank commercial and even though it was just a commercial I knew from that moment on that I wanted to be an actress forever!
3. Who are your inspirations?
My number one inspiration is my mama! Even though she says she would cry if she ever had to go into an audition room her work ethic and her reach for the stars attitude are things I strive for! I also am extremely inspired by Jameela Jamil, not only is she a fantastic actress but she’s using her influence on social media to help with body positivity and getting rid of stereotypes not only about actresses but all women in general!
4. What have been some of the most notable projects you’ve worked on so far?
I’ve been very fortunate to meet some very cool people while working as an actress such as Natasha Leggero, Riki Lindhome, Ernie Hudson, AnnaLynne McCord, etc. With that said I just worked on two projects, “Milkshake Girls” and “Lost girls:Angie’s Story”, that are bringing awareness to sex trafficking and shedding light to the terrible truth that is sex trafficking in America. Both of those projects pushed me both as an actress and as a young woman and because of that I believe them to be the most notable in my career so far.
5. What is your dream role?
I’ve always loved dramatic roles, I’ve even taught myself to cry on command! With that said my dream role is one that not only makes the audience feel something, whether it be sadness or happiness but after watching wanting to get up out of their seat and make a difference! “Milkshake Girls” and “Lost girls: Angie’s story” were dream roles for me and I’d love to continue being a part of films and shows like that, think a big little lies and room!
6. Can you tell us about the charity work you partake in? What organizations you work closely with?
Over the past couple of years Coachart has become a huge part of my life! This organization holds a special place in my heart and I am so happy I get to help children learn and become passionate about something in the arts! Coachart is an organization that takes kids and their families who were impacted by childhood chronic illness and provides a arts and athletics community for them! In other words Coachart pairs a child and their family up with a volunteer to teach them something in the arts or athletics field. Volunteering with these kids and seeing them get the passion I get for acting through what we as volunteers are teaching them is beautiful and I think every kid deserves to find what they are passionate about!
7. Why do you think it is important to use your platforms for positive change?
I think the only way to make a difference in the way teenagers grow up is showing them positive influencers, specifically on social media! A while back I created a hashtag #loveyourselfsaturday in which I post a selfie with no makeup on! I’m lucky enough to be confident and happy with the way I look but I didn’t always feel that way. Growing up with social media is extremely dangerous and if you have a platform I think it’s extremely important to use it to help others! I will continue trying to help people love themselves and being a positive influence on social media as I want everyone to be happy and confident in themselves, you live a healthier and overall greater life when you are!
8. Do you have any other upcoming projects?
I currently have three upcoming projects all expected to premiere this year!! The first two are the sex trafficking awareness films one being a feature film (“Lost girls: Angie’s story”) and the other being a short film (“Milkshake Girls”). I also have a lifetime movie coming out called “The Missing Sister,” I being the missing sister, Raven!
9. What are your social media platforms?
